PBBY-Alcala Prize: Mark Lawrence Andres

Awarded during the 33rd National Children’s Book Day on July 19, 2016 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

Mr. Andres’ charming illustrations captured the warmth and playfulness of the story “Mákináng Makináng” by Genaro Gojo Cruz, winner of the 2016 PBBY-Salanga Prize.

Mark Lawrence Andres is a graphic designer at And a Half Studio and a member of Ang Ilustrador ng Kabataan (Ang INK), a professional organization of children’s book artists. He illustrated and designed three children’s books for Save the Children’s First Read program.
