The National Library of the Philippines

The National Library of the Philippines (NLP) is the repository of printed and recorded cultural heritage and other intellectual resources of our country. Its mission is to acquire, organize, conserve, and preserve Filipiniana materials and provide equitable access to library resources through a system of public libraries throughout the country.

The NLP believes in the importance of reading in the development of Filipino children and young adults. Thus, on July 18, 2006 the Children's Section (CS) was established to promote love for books and reading. This section offers services, resources, and activities for the promotion of reading among children.
